Luncheon-debate with Lech Wałęsa, Former President of Poland and Nobel Prize Peace Laureate, on the theme “From Solidarity to Democracy – A Vision for Peace”.

Lech Wałęsa is a Polish politician, former President of Poland (1990-1995), and an iconic figure in the fight for democracy in Eastern Europe. As the founder of the Solidarność (Solidarity) trade union, he played a key role in Poland’s peaceful transition to democracy. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1983, he remains an influential voice on issues of freedom and human rights.
